Group Training

Working out with others in a group setting is motivating, encouraging and just plain fun. Here’s what you can expect at a Surefire Fitness group training session…

  1. A helpful coach. Each group training session is led by one of our certified personal trainers. In fact, most of our trainers have their bachelor’s or master’s degrees in exercise science. Coaching isn’t a hobby for us. Coaching is a career, and helping our members to do things they never thought possible is our passion.
  2. A supportive community. The gym environment can be intimidating. Not the case at Surefire. Our gym is full of some of the coolest people wanting nothing more than to see you succeed. Whether you’re in great shape or out of shape, you are welcome here.
  3. A great workout. Every workout at Surefire is so much more than a calorie burn. In fact, you’ll have so much fun doing a variety of exercises, movement drills and fitness games; you may forget you’re even working out! If it was done on the playground, you can probably guess we’ll do it at Surefire.

The group training program meets Monday – Friday at 5:00 am, 6:00 am, Noon, 4:30 pm and 5:30 pm. Regardless of your fitness level, the program is designed to meet you where you’re at. With a variety of membership options, there’s literally something for everyone. And the best part? Every workout offers something fresh, challenging and exciting. Our members walk through the Surefire gym doors each training session not knowing what’s in store.

Personal Training

If some one-on-one attention is what you’re looking for, we’ve got you covered. Personal training is a great option for lots of reasons, but specifically, it gives us the opportunity to laser focus on a specific goal of yours. We’ve helped ultra runners set new PR’s, Division 1 athletes prepare for their seasons and individuals recovering from injury get back to work.

60+ Group Training

Over the years, we have had several requests to start a program for older adults. While there are a variety of age groups that attend our group training program at Surefire (including several in their 60’s), we realize that some of the movements and exercises are not always appropriate for many older individuals without modification.

We are excited to finally fill that need with a new group training program specifically for adults 60 and older. Maintaining and even improving strength and balance are extremely important as we age. That’s why the bulk of this class will focus on those two things in a fun, unique, and challenging way. The program meets every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, and every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.

Membership options with great flexibility available

Tai Chi

Tai Chi consists of very gentle and slow movements accompanied by controlled breathing leading to an overall relaxed state of the body and the mind. The regular practice of Tai Chi has been shown to improve general wellbeing increasing strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance while reducing mental and physical stress and the incidence of falls in older adults and Parkinson’s disease patients. Give it a try! Felicitas will help you get started, and she will guide your learning with clear instructions in person and practice-at-home videos.

  • Introduction to TaiChi: If you are new to Taichi, or just starting, this is the class for you. It lays the foundations for future growth in your practice by learning the principles and the basic postures and movements. This class is 30 minutes long and meets every Friday at 10:00 am.

  • Beginner level: This class lays the foundations for future growth in your practice by teaching the Thirteen Principles of Tai Chi (Shi San Shi form) and the standardized Yang Style 24 form. This class is ongoing and meets every Friday at 9:05 am.

  • Long-form: This class is for those who have learned the 24 and Thirteen Principles forms and would like to take on a new challenge. The long form consists of 108 movements taught in two sections.

    • First half of the form: Meets on Wednesday at 10:55 am.

    • Second half of the form: Meets on Wednesday at 9:05 am.

  • Advanced group: students who are more advanced in the practice and are familiar with the long form should join this class. We will continue to work on revising and refining the forms, as well as explore Qigong and more.

  • Practice group: An informal session offered as an opportunity to study, review, practice, and work on specific sections of a form, or just practice with others. The practice group is ongoing and it meets on Friday at 1:30 pm. Access to the practice group is included when signing up for any Tai Chi class.

The introductory class is 30 minutes, all other classes are 45 minutes long.

Nutrition Coaching

What happens outside workouts can support or sabotage your efforts in the gym. When it comes to nutrition, we focus on creating habits that are sustainable and make it easier for YOU to maintain a healthy lifestyle and reach your goals. Whether you are trying to lose weight, improve your performance, look better, or just feel better, our nutrition coach can help you get there. No forbidden foods or restrictive diets, just optimizing you’re eating habits to nourish your body.

We offer one time consultations, individualized 12-week nutrition coaching programs, and group challenges.

Youth Training

KID NINJA (AGES 5-8)

Our youth program for kids ages 5-8, Kid Ninja, meets every Tuesday evening from 6:45 pm – 7:30 pm.

Each week we focus on a few different ninja, parkour, free running, tricking, or other movement skills. If you struggle to keep your little one from performing stunts off the couch at home, this program is the answer.

DRAGONS (AGES 9-12)

Our youth program for kids ages 9-12, Dragons, meets every Thursday evening from 6:45 pm – 7:30 pm.

Much like Kid Ninja, we focus on a different ninja, parkour, free running, tricking, or other movement skill each week. We dial in the technique a little more with this age group as well as sprinkle in some strength and conditioning each session.

TEEN PARKOUR (AGES 13-18)

Our youth program for teens ages 13-18, Teen Parkour, meets every Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:pm.

Much like Kid Ninja and Dragons, we explore movement through parkour, free running, ninja, and tricking, but with an emphasis on parkour fundamentals. We dial in the technique even more with this age group, learn to combine movements, and sprinkle in some strength and conditioning.

Kid Ninja Birthday Parties

Option #1 (Ninja)

Give your child the ultimate ninja experience on their next birthday! Our youth program, Kid Ninja, has expanded to offer one-of-a-kind birthday parties!

Combining a custom ninja obstacle course with presents and cakes makes for one extremely happy kid. It also may earn you a parent-of-the-year trophy!

  • Parties available for booking anytime Saturdays and Sundays
  • Run time of 90 minutes (60 minutes of an exciting and custom ninja obstacle course led by our certified trainers + 30 minutes of presents/food)
  • Tables, chairs, paper goods provided (You are responsible for all food/drink)
  • LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN!

Price: $209  (Pricing based off 12 or fewer participating children. An additional $10/child charged after 12.)

Option #2 (Ninja + Nerf)

For this option we are extending the party time to a full two hours. In addition to a custom ninja obstacle course, we’ll end each party with an ultimate Nerf battle! This will truly make for an epic birthday celebration!

  • Parties available for booking anytime Saturdays and Sundays
  • Run time of 2 hours (60 minutes of an exciting and custom ninja obstacle course led by our certified trainers + 30 minutes of presents/food + 30 minutes of Nerf wars)
  • Tables, chairs, paper goods provided (You are responsible for all food/drink)
  • LOTS AND LOTS OF FUN!

Price: $309 (Pricing based off 12 or fewer participating children. An additional $10/child charged after 12.)
